Excellent book.

I also have to reiterate Haggis' statements about the Dark Tower series by SK. This may seem sacreligious to some of you, but I will say right now that it rivals The Lord of the Rings novels. I started reading both around the same time (age 11). I must say that as far as epic fantasy goes, SK rates with the best.

I also have to mention Robert Jordan. His Wheel of Time novels are an experience that every fan of fantasy should have. The convoluted plots weaving in and around characters that you admire, love and hate is mesmirizing enough to carry you through the THOUSANDS of pages he's devoted to them. But set aside at least a year to read them all. Approximately 10 books, all about 900+ pages, with no end in sight.

Re: The Book Blog

Woohoo...we got another Ender's Game! I completly forgot about that one and I'm so glad you mentioned it! I never was able to get into the Death Gate series even though I'm a HUGE Weis & Hickman Fan going all the way back to the 80s...must give the DeathGate books another try....

Great selections!
